Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? by Jeanette Winterson

We bought and read this book while we were on a summer holiday in Barcelona at around the same time last year. If you’ve noticed, we’re trying to recommend a wide array of genres and styles of writing so this one is another out of the ordinary recommendation as it’s definitely not a beach read.

Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? is a brilliantly funny but also very moving memoir written by Jeanette Winterson. We know nothing about the writer and about her story but we finished the book quietly applauding her talent as we’ve just experienced a very excellent storyteller.
