Happy Lunching at Cocina Peruvia
Slowly but surely and with safety first always in mind, we’re trying to go back to eating out mainly to support the restaurants that have decided to open. Our choice one Saturday late lunch while going around The Podium was the festive looking, it’s Peruvian after all, Cocina Peruvia. It’s located on the fifth floor which means lesser people in general milling around the area so that’s a huge advantage. Only three tables were occupied including a group of fresh grads just starting on their new jobs having a Christmas get together. Normally we hate noisy, big groups but as they were tucked away in a corner away from us and in the spirit of Christmas we actually quite enjoyed listening to their boisterous laughs and their catch-up chats plus again we’re in a Peruvian restaurant so they fit right in the colorful and happy ambiance. The menu was limited, this was explained to us as one of the effects of the pandemic. We made sure to order the two available starters – calamari and fried salmon skin, one main dish – beef tenderloin parilla and a skewer – chicken. Everything was on point. We even thought about taking home one more parilla but thought it best to just come back since it’s still best to eat it fresh from the kitchen.
