Gourmet Farms: Getaway on a Stormy Long Weekend

Before Rolly unleashed its full force, we decided to take a trip down south and finally take a breather outside the metro. It’s our first time to go out of Manila and safety first has always been our mantra so when we chose the only place where to dine in during the entire long weekend that we were in Laguna, we made sure that the place we will go to would have an al fresco set-up.

We settled on trying out Gourmet Farms. We arrived early to avoid the lunch crowd which, if you will remember, was one of our tips when eating out during CoVid. We were the only ones at the very beautiful outdoor dining area where a free flowing coffee set-up was available. Isn’t that wonderful? For our mains, we ordered a mix of pasta, salmon and pork belly. It was still sunny and it would seem like the storm slowed down a bit so landfall would still be the next day. That said, we lingered for a bit. We ordered calamari and some beers. We only left when the tables started getting occupied one by one either by weekend riders or families. We had to skip the tour of their plantation and sanctuary which we will definitely have to do the next time we get the chance to visit again.
