Davao Eats: Taichou Izakaya
When you’re from the North or staying at the hotels north side of town (D2 and Insular Hotel) and you don’t want to go downtown for your Japanese food fix then you’re in luck because Taichou Izakaya has recently opened a Lanang branch, more specifically at the entrance of Nova Tierra Village.
Most of us were craving ramen during our visit so we ordered all their best sellers. While still not a match to the authentic Japanese ramen, this certainly comes close. Being rice lovers, we made sure to order rice meals. The Katsudon and the Beef Curry Rice also did not disappoint. We literally did an eat and run since even if there are barely any COVID cases anymore in the city, we still did not want to stay long in a place full of people. The good news, for any foodie who wants good restaurants to survive this pandemic, is there was already a big group waiting to take over our table when we left.
