Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata

We’re big fans of Japanese convenience stores (hello, lawson egg sandwich!) and this book just took that love to a whole new level. This one is well-written, filled with disturbance and oddity and yet evoking a sense of tranquility and so much spot-on dead-pan hilarity.
