Buda Eats: Pilgrim Cafe & Restaurant and Campfire Pizza

Buda Eats: Pilgrim Cafe & Restaurant and Campfire Pizza

We’ve already proven through our previous features that we will gamely fly for food so it’s very believable if we say that we will also drive for food. Buda, short for Bukidnon-Davao, is fast becoming the go-to place for escape of the city folks in its surrounding areas. It’s around two hours to three hours away, depending on traffic, from downtown Davao City. That’s a commitment especially since our first visit coincided with the rising gas prices so we made sure to pick a place that we’re sure to be worth it.

Hence we found ourselves at Pilgrim Cafe & Restaurant one Thursday morning to enjoy early lunch. It was expectedly full because it’s been getting a lot of great reviews. We meant to order solo meals but when the food came, we decided that there were big enough for sharing so we had it laid out at the center. We wanted to enjoy the cool weather for a longer time so we got desserts too. While everything was good, we just want to make a special mention of their cheesecake. When we saw it, we thought it was a mistake since it was wrapped and looked like a crepe but it was really meant to be that way. That was an awesome way to end our meal.

Before heading back to the city, we made sure to take-out boxes of pizzas from the next door Campfire and we’re super glad to report that it survived the long drive home.

We saw a lot of cafes and restaurants along the way so it looks like we will be back again to discover more places deserving to be included in our Buda Eats list.
