Around Italy: Florence

A day trip is too short but still we made sure to cover as much and that means visiting the Piazza Duomo and soaking in the lively goings-on as people wait for their turn to get inside, walking aimlessly around town and then stopping by a gelato shop to re-energize us for another stretch of walking and finally spending time at the Galleria degli Uffizi where even with the less than favorable ambiance of thick crowds, everything just fades into the background once you focus on the masterpieces right in front of you.
