A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki

This book confused the hell out of us and that’s why we loved it. The key was just to get lost in it. We fell in love with all the characters, not just Nao and Ruth. Some of the themes are distressing and it will take so much out of you before you experience some sort of redemption in the end. It is the perfect read to remind us all, especially during this time of crisis, of the beguiling history of our shared humanity.
