Books Kinokuniya: Getting Ready for Bookends 2023

Around October of last year we visited our favorite bookstore chain, Books Kinokuniya. Since Japan wasn’t open for tourists then, we went to the one in Takashimaya in Singapore instead. It’s always a highlight of our trips to fill half of our luggage with newly bought books.

We spent more than a day, meaning we went back twice, just scouring the rows of shelves picking out the books that would soon grace the Bookends section of this website.

We tried their new self-checkout counters and found them to be very efficient and fun to use. We also put to good use our reusable tote bags by wisely spreading out, weight wise, our purchases between our two visits. You’ll see some of the titles that are now lined-up for us to read and review but there’s more that’s not in any of the photos so make sure to watch out for our future Bookends features.
