Michelin Eats: Joel Robuchon
One of the most happening places in Tokyo is Ebisu so I’ve been to the area a couple of times and every time I see the glistening building of Robuchon I would always wonder to myself what will be the perfect reason to splurge on a meal at Joel Robuchon. Finally during my most recent trip, I decided that I did not need any special reason because simply wanting to eat at a three star Michelin restaurant is an enough reason. Luckily I was able to book a table for one last minute.
I don’t like dressing up but I made sure to wear a proper dress but defiantly paired it with my trusty boots. I appreciate how the service was warm and friendly and they gave me a corner spot with a good view of the whole room. That’s so convenient for me because apart from eating, I like observing the goings-on in a restaurant.
The food was superb from start to finish. Each plate put out was a feast for the eyes and food for the soul. For the first time I had a hard time picking out favorites because I loved everything. However, as in one of my posts about this dinner, I know how the desserts and pastry chefs who make them have a hard time getting credit they deserve because they come in last so what I want to tell you is save room for the desserts because all the dessert items including the ones in the trolleys are just amazing as the rest of the items of the Menu Degustation.
Hopefully my photos will somehow vicariously take you through my unforgettable culinary journey. And as I end this short piece, I would like to thank Joel Robuchon and his entire team at Tokyo for indulging my senses during the best four-hour meal of my life. Until we meet again.
