Rural Kitchen of Liliw, Laguna: A Chef’s Homage to his Ancestors
Across our old office (ACE Building) in Rada is a 7/11. It used to be the only “happening place” in our street but now there are many new places that have opened up and one of those is tucked right next to that 7/11. Rural Kitchen of Liliw, Laguna is a small, unassuming space that will make you feel right at home. A perfect homage to the ancestors of Chef Justin Sarabia and the place where all the heirloom recipes featured in the restaurant were born. The comfortability levels up once you start eating off your plate. It is rare for us to say this but we like all the things we ordered, even the complimentary Bonete bread. For starters we had the Bangus Lumpia and Crispy Squid. And then we moved on to the mains composed of the Beef Mechado and dry Pork Adobo. For some veggies, we had Pinakbet and Pako Salad. And then finally for dessert, we had Suman sa Latik and Ube Sorbetes. To top all of that, the staff as a team was friendly and efficient. We all agreed to come back, excited to have a taste of the other items in the menu.
