La Picara: Our First Lockdown Lunch Out
We stayed home for most of the lockdown except when we have to go out for essentials which usually means carefully planned, quick trips to the outside world and that also means strictly no eating out. When the restrictions allowed dine-in, it took us a while to finally convince ourselves to book a restaurant for a proper meal.
We voted for Spanish and figured that BGC would be a good choice as a venue. A pointer that we think you could use when eating out apart from the usual wear your PPEs, practice physical distancing and frequently wash or sanitize your hands is to be the first ones to arrive in the restaurant. Be early and finish early before the other customers come in that way you get to enjoy the ambiance of the place without worrying too much plus you get the full attention of the usually lean staff.
Now, of course, we have to talk about the food. We ordered their best sellers from the Gambas to the Paella to the Calamari. Everything was delicioso and the wine that the waiter recommended was also very good. Over-all it was a very satisfactory meal and we felt safe the whole time. They even gave us complimentary glasses of wine and an appetizer. It was definitely worth going out for but it might take a while for the next one because we still advocate staying home as much as possible.
