Singapore Eats: National Kitchen by Violet Oon
C onveniently located near the city center, the National Gallery is one of the best places to spend time in when you are in Singapore. It houses permanent exhibitions and very interesting traveling exhibitions, more recently the Yayoi Kusama: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow exhibit. It even has free access active and learn play areas for kids. And more recently it became home to one of the city's most treasured chefs with the opening of National Kitchen by Violet Oon. The fancy ambiance is quite a contrast to the down to earth specialties like the Beef Rendang, Satay and Butter Prawn but it is one that works quite well. We wrapped up our meal with the simple but filling Pineapple Upside Down Cake and a promise to come back again on our next visit. That is if we're able get a table because this place is so popular there's a queue to getting a spot!
