Postcards from Tukey and Greece
Here’s our maiden “Postcards” feature on this site. In our desire to cover more places across the country and around the world, we asked some of our backpacker, wanderlust, globetrotter friends to share photos from their travels.
White and blue never looked this good
This week Cathrine Daghigh shares with us some snapshots from her recent trip to Turkey and Greece. Check out the equally picturesque destinations with personal captions from Cathy herself.
Hagia Sophia. A former Christian church, later an imperial mosque, and now a famous museum
Exploring the Acropolis of Athens
And the daily walkathon continues. This time, uphill and lots of lots of stairs
Exploring Göreme in my alvar. These alladin pants or what we now know as harem pants, are part of the folk costume of Turkey, but actually originated in Persia around the 16th century. And since I'm half Persian, thought i'd give it a go. Perfect way to fit in.
Welcome home to our cave house in Göreme! Been living in cave houses in Santorini, but this is a completely different experience. Erosion shaped the incredible landscape of the Göreme valley, but thousands of years ago people started carving an incredible chamber and tunnel complex into the soft rock. It's like 35 degrees outside, but it's super cool inside these houses.
We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone
