One thing new at this year’s Kadayawan sa Davao Celebration was the Davao Gourmet Collective held at the SM Lanang Premier. The weekend long event showcased the best of artisan food in Davao. We had the Beko’s Biik boneless lechon belly and it was crunchily yummy. Also present at the said even were Davao’s own Blue Gre Café, Bangkok Wok and the world famous Malagos Cheese among others.
There is really so much good food to taste in this city and so here’s a list of the other places we got to visit during that weekend.
It may surprise you that we are suggesting a Japanese restaurant in Davao but surely Tsuru is worth trying at least for one meal. While we cannot say that it is entirely authentic, the fresh ingredients available in the city counts a lot as to why it can get really addicting.
Luz Kinilaw Place
It maybe old and outdated but it is still the go to place not just for kinilaw but also for anything ihaw. We suggest that you take out though since ambiance wise there is not much going for the place. Do not forget to order some tuna and even their squid also comes in highly recommended.
Yellow Fin Restaurant
Now if you’re looking for a comfortable place to eat with good food then the Torres Branch of Yellow Fin is a good place to go to especially for big groups. For big families, we recommend that you order their platter together with pinakbet and some pancit. If you want soup then their shell soup never fails to deliciously warm tummies.
S & R
The newly opened S & R is the newest favorite of people from Davao. One can order a whole pizza and enjoy it with family and friends. The best part is the drinks are bottomless. We have to include it in our list just so you have an option where to go if you want some Western grub after all the grilled and home cooked style food you’ve been eating.
