Battle of Thai: People's Palace vs Som's Noodle House
We love Thai food and we have tried, and even featured one or two, places that serve yummy curry or some unique version of Thai fried rice. In this feature, we will be comparing two equally awesome Thai restaurants however they differ slightly in prices and there is a huge difference to consider when it comes to ambiance.
People's Palace is located at the posh Greenbelt mall. The interior is high ceiling so the dining area is very comfortable and to a certain degree even feels rather upscale. Go here if you want safe and easy parking as well as guaranteed cool atmosphere when the weather outside is rather hot.
Don't forget to try the Prawn, Coconut and Pomelo Salad. If you haven't had enough prawns, then have some Prawn Spring Rolls too. We also like their Pineapple Seafood Rice. Prepare Php 2500 for food, proper meal, and drinks for three people.
Som's Noodle House is right by Alger Street in Poblacion. It's the street right before you enter Rockwell if you're coming from Kalayaan. There is no proper parking area so it can get really challenging.
Their patrons are used to eating outside so even if they have an indoor area, which is not much of an upgrade really just an area to cater more customers, it's those assembled tables with branded umbrellas outside that are considered prime seats.
