Around Singapore: Singapore GP 2015 Friday Practice Off Track Action
Race Day was of course reserved for solid on track action. Others may disagree but we believe that the Turn 2 Sky Suite Grandstand, where we were at, is the best spot around the track. Sure the Pit Grandstand and the Paddock Club, where we also got to watch the race during previous races, have the best view of the starting grid but Turn 2 gives you a full and clear view of the cars in racing mode. The energy in Zone 1 is much more relaxed than in the other zones because there's less people but definitely more things going on. Perhaps the biggest challenge though when you're in Zone 1 is making it to Padang Stage in time fro the post race concert.
Despite the free boat ride to the other side of the bay and a free shuttle to the venue, we only caught the tail end of the Bon Jovi concert which was a bummer but still singing Livin' on a Prayer with thousands of F1 fans was enough to make up for whatever we missed. After the concert, we took a cab to Geylang to try the famous frog porridge which turned out to be not so bad.
We were leaving on the evening of Monday, the day after the race, and we made sure to squeeze in as much eating during that day before heading out to the airport. We had brunch at Wild Honey in Scotts Square after a bit of shopping and then dessert was at Angelina located at the Capitol Galleria.
