Against a Common Foe: The Philippines and Europe working towards security
This coming 12 March, UP EURO will host the 11th Philippine Summit on European Studies entitled, “Against a Common Foe: The Philippines and Europe Working Toward Security.”
While there is much talk about the recent terrorist attack in Europe, Asia, and elsewhere, a lack of understanding leaves many members of society unsure of what to do. We are short of the complete comprehension of the violent aspects in play, and are therefore unable to do our part as citizens to combat terrorism.
In light of the witnessed attacks in Paris, Beirut, and recently in Jakarta, this year’s EURO Summit will look at the state of terrorism as a threat to national security in order to fully grasp this global issue. But the discussion will not stop there; experts and personalities from various fields will be invited to talk about what the Philippines is doing to secure its citizens from this threat, what Europe offers to assist us in this fight, and what we, the average citizen, can do to mitigate this issue.
For only Php100 (Php50 for UP students), get to be part of an engaging and thought-provoking discussion and receive summit kits with freebies from various embassies and institutions.
The EURO Summit 2016 will be held at 12 March 2016, Saturday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in UP Diliman. Registration starts at 11:00 AM. Preregister now at tinyurl.com/EUROSummit2016!
